Q: My creditors say they will just garnish my wages. Can they do this?

A: The short answer is No. Creditors cannot simply take your wages, for non-payment of a debt. There is a legal process they MUST follow. In order for wages to be garnished, the creditor must receive an order from the judge, and even then, there are steps OCCA can help you take to ensure you are protected.
